Ladder Safety Training Online Course and Certification

 

This training program aims to raise awareness about ladder safety training and educate employees on how to use equipment properly in the workplace. The main goal is to prevent slips and falls while using ladders and stilts.

The course covers topics such as ladder and stilt safety tips, types of ladders, and do's and don'ts for handling equipment. At the end of the course, a practical training checklist is provided along with a final test.

The training program is divided into the following chapters:

1. Introduction
This chapter discusses the importance of equipment examination before use, the primary goal of the training, and the learning objectives of the course.

2. Legislation
This chapter explains the requirements for ladder types and use, physical measurements to follow, and specific design structures.

3. Ladder Inspection
In this chapter, learners will discover the defects of ladders that need to be inspected for repair or replacement, such as missing or loose steps or rungs, damaged or worn non-slip feet, and loose nails, screws, bolts, nuts, locks, or other metal parts in poor condition.

4. Ladder Types
This chapter illustrates the four main types of ladders: portable ladders, step ladders, extension ladders, and fixed access ladders.

5. Ladder Safety
This chapter covers ladder safety precautions for the four main ladder types, safety tips, and do's and don'ts for using these types of ladders.

6. Stilts
This chapter covers the purposes of using stilts for residential units, guidelines for manufacture in accordance with Regulation 213/91, required conditions when stilts are used on a work surface, and modifications needed if stilts are used in a work area that requires a guardrail system.

7. Stilts Training Program
This chapter covers the requirements and regulations related to the training program on the safe and proper use of stilts, including accurate instructions on maintaining, servicing, and storing stilts.

8. Do's and Don'ts
This chapter presents a comprehensive list of do's and don'ts for the use of stilts before workers attempt to learn to walk on them.

9. Practical Training Checklist
At the end of the course, a practical training checklist is provided for supervisors to record appropriate practical training requirements.
